The Admin team.

Post by Majin Vegeta #BB »

The current Admin team has been notorious for not being able to answer the questions the regulars(some) of the community have if they're controversial in some way. This shouldn't be how the team operates and it shouldn't be the direction the community takes. Silence over answers is never the right path to take, as all it does is make the team seemed almost unable to answer the questions presented by the community. There are situations where the actions you take as a team is the right decision, however when someone tries to question the action and makes a post or something in order to gain an answer, staying silence only makes it looks like you guys were in the wrong and that you guys weren't sure about the decision when it was made.

The team needs to be able to shut down the difficult questions and situations that you face to show the community that you're not only working in the shadows and that you aren't second second guessing your decisions, but that each decision you make as a team is firm and has enough reasoning and that you aren't scared of actually answering, even if the answer is controversial. Kallekanin was good at this, being able to lay out his reasoning and explaining his actions, challenging regulars to argue so he could explain every step he made, and that is something expected from the admin team, but seeing no answers from the big and even the small trollish questions is something I truly dislike to see. Show the authority and the experience you have as admins, and handle the trolls and questions with confidence rather than just deleting and ignoring the topics. Being part of the admin team means that you need to be prepared for hard and controversial questions.

So many players have left due to the low communication of the admin team and the regulars on the servers, and if this keeps going on, then neonDragon will lose more and more players. This really does need to be fixed, as neonDragon is only as good as how solid it's team is. I don't see enough admins in the servers being good ambassadors for the servers. I know I'm asking a lot but that's what being an admin is, being the most valuable players for the community by investing as much as you can into the servers.

What you mention here is an issue most teams/communities/societies are facing. The line between how and what kind of information that should be given to the public to support everyone's best interest has not been optimal. The admins have to step up when it comes to information and explanations. Right now not enough information is distributed to the public to sustain the quality and player-base we desperately need.

Queries and posts on forums go unanswered, especially with regards to jailbreak. A regular appreciate a member's response but in most cases, the regular is not satisfied before an admin has clarified the issue. The fact that we do not have an admin designated to handle PR, forum and tasks related to jailbreak do not help the cause. Take "jailbreak suggestions" as an example, we have a heavy decrease in suggestions as they know it will not be handled.

We have gotten quite a few new players recently but we have also lost quite a few valuable old regulars. The admin team should act prudently for the future of nd and what information to share. However, there have been situations over the past months that haven't been properly handled nor explained publically by the team.

The admin team is kind of split between the tech and non-tech admins. The tech admins are few and obviously, have a heavy workload that takes its toll. However, they could be more engaged and accessible when it comes to answering queries from the public and from the team.

Why are members able to vote privately on applications without having the applicant know about their votes?

The private voting is not a substitute for the public voting. Members should give their opinion on the application or to the applicant. However, the private voting is to give the admins a summary of all the members' votes along with the possibility for private discussion.

Why do you get to vote anonymously for who you want to lead your country? To make it as fair as possible?

Cause when members vote it's not about what to improve or what not, they state whether or not they are capable of member + more but I'll add more later im tired

That more could be things other members haven’t spotted that could help them draft a response later. E.g “I noticed him faffing about as CT few times, but maybe he had a bad day - it’s worth looking out for, anyhow” then another member becomes aware of this and checks up on it or whatever else pops to mind. A team should have intern discussions it is only healthy.

Then people shouldn’t be sheep, surely that’s another discussion.

Edit: on a lot of sites applications are closed for public view even.

Why not? Members are moderators which need often to focus more on things than a regular. Why not having a small compact input and view of moderators/members which are active and which share their thoughts. I don't think someone would vote in public in an other way than in private. I don't see any issue since no one makes shit up there, its just sharing an opinion of the applicant for what no one need to deffend himself.
