I just installed a forum addon which allows you to "like" specific posts. You will find the "Thank you" button (

By clicking this button you can show your agreement with the posting, instead of just quoting it and add "+1" or similar underneath it. Thus, postings which basically only consist of (previous topic) quotes are from now on forbidden, when the "thank you" button is available. That means, if you for example agree on a post someone has made on an application, you "thank it", instead of just quoting it. If you have something to add or reply though, you are still allowed to do so.
Some other noteable things:
- The amount of thanks given and received can be seen within ones user profile
- There is a thankslist which is showing how many "thanks" has been given and received
- "Thanks" can be revoked again if you reconsider and choose otherwise
- Spamming the "thank you" button might result in a removal of the right to do so, or a temporary forum ban. But other than that, there's no limit in labeling posts you think are good!
- The reason why it's not available on the spam forum yet, is because "thanks" should label quality postings, and I'm afraid too much would be given away for crap there. However, the thanks option is available on the media section.
I hope you find it usefull and it works out to be a great addition to the forums,
Mati
p.s.: If you just are just about to reply "n1 mati" now - don't!
