My plan was to go for 1070 to be able to play on 1440p, the 1080 was 100 euros more expensive and i decided to go for it at the end instead of going for an i7 7700k and waste 200 euros.

#176 Post Re: Your setup
Finally finished a 18 day PC building process:

Getting the products and beginning the build on May 20. Got an extra keyboard with it, because the old one had the "u" key breaking. My attemt at fixing it with soldering ended up breaking some RGB colors on the keyboard, and my fixing of the key only worked 2 days :(

Turns out the CPU cooler i bought, and the 3 RGB fans are 140mm (too big for my case). So i decided to return them, and get 120mm ones instead, so the can actually fit in my tiny case.

* 12 days later *

Finally, back to work:

Final package. Incredible i need to buy these from germany, because they are sold out everywhere in denmark..

Putting in fans

Putting everything else in

Some cable management

Does it boot? Kinda, forgot to add CPU power..

Windows install went well :D

* 2 days later *

Back to work again:

Time to benchmark, and optimize airflow of the case.

Turns out moving the radiator of the cooler from top to front reduced temperatures by 5 degrees C

Time to play with lights :D

* Next day *

Everything works at this point, and i found some lighting that i like.

Spoiler: show

Cooler is pushing 1 of the ram onto another slot, which means i cant fit the 2 extra RAM that i ordered :(

A new clean setup.

I sold my old PC for a decent price (60% compared to what it cost me to build it) which is not bad considering that the build is almost 2 years old.

The 460X was a damn good choice, have the 400c myself and absolutely adore it. And fucking hell that ram is cool.

Awesome setup!

Out of curiosity.. when the radiator and fans was on top of the case they was placed so the airflow of the fans would push out the heat coming from CPU through the liquid cooler to the radiator.

Why would you place the radiator+fans like that to the front of the computer, unless all the fans in the case are configured so that the airflow goes from back to front and out. Though in that case, the fans and radiator should be other way around.
Right now, if the 3 fans in front of the radiator are configured as intake for the airflow, the heat which the liquid cooler circulates from the CPU to the radiator, the fans in front of it is pushing the heat back inside the case instead of out from it.

Tho, if you have all fans (front and rear) configured so the airflow is directed to the outside of the case, it would be lot better if those 2 fans and the radiator switched places. :)
