Basic Werewolf Roles

Post by Rainboy »

Here I'll attempt to make a comprehensive list of all the basic Werewolf and Mafia roles we use. Those that are labeled ADV are advanced roles and not allowed in Mafia games without permission from a permamod. By default, all Werewolf roles are excluded from Mafia. (did I really have to say that?)

Werewolves
Normal Wolf - Basic werewolf with no powers save voting.
Alpha Wolf - Able to maul a player once per game, in addition to the wolf night kill.
Beta Wolf - Able to survive a single action that would otherwise kill him.
Gamma Wolf - Able to infect a player and turn them into a Normal Wolf.
Seer Wolf - Able to peek a player each round to discover their role.
ADVWolf Mage - Able to force a chosen player to target another chosen player each round with all actions they perform that round.

Mafia
Goon - Basic mafia member with no powers save voting.
Don - Able to peek a player each round to discover their role.
Consort - Able to roleblock a player each round.
Godfather - Seen as a Villager by peekers. Able to avoid Trackers and Watchers.
Convict - Able to survive one action that would otherwise kill him.
Pathologist - While alive, learns the roles of all dead players.
Hitman - Able to shoot a player, in addition to the regular Mafia shot, once per game.
ADVFramer - Able to frame someone each round, making them look guilty to the Deputy.

Evil Villagers
Evil villagers win with the wolves/mafia, but don't know their team, aren't detected by the Seer/Deputy, don't need to be killed for the village do win, and don't count for parity.
Traitor - Basic evil villager with no powers save voting.
Sorcerer - Can peek for Wolf/Not Wolf (or Mafia/Not Mafia) each round.
Fake Doc - Wins with the Mafia and can poison one player during the game, killing them.
ADVWitch - Can roleblock a player each night.
ADVSpy - Infiltrates Mason groups.
ADVSaulus - Becomes a normal villager if lynched.

Villagers
Villager - Basic town role with no powers save voting.
ADVSeer - Able to peek a player each round and will receive a result of Wolf or Not Wolf.
ADVApprentice - Promoted to Seer if the Seer dies.
Deputy - Able to peek a player each round and will receive a result of Mafia or Not Mafia.
Officer - Promoted to Deputy if the Deputy dies.
Vigilante - Able to shoot and kill two players during the game.
Hunter - Automatically shoots a random wolf if alive when the wolves reach parity.
Doctor - Able to protect a player each night, keeping them from death.
Nurse - Promoted to Doctor if the Doctor dies.
Priest - While alive, all dead players' roles are posted when they die.
Watcher - Able to watch one player each round to see which players target them with powers.
Tracker - Able to track one player each round to see which players that player targets.
ADVRedirector - Able to force a chosen player to target another chosen player each round with all actions they perform that round.
ADVBus Driver - Able to switch two chosen players each round, causing all actions happening to one to happen to the other.
Mason - Knows all other Masons at the start of the game.

Other
ADVCult Leader - Able to recruit a player into the Cult each night, making them a Cult Member. Wins if over half the living players are in the Cult.
ADVCult Member - No powers other than voting. Commits suicide if the Cult Leader dies.
ADVSerial Killer - Able to make a kill each night. Wins if he is the last player in the game.
Fool - Wins if lynched. Usually does not cause the game to end.
Survivor - Wins if alive at the end of the game. Can win with any team.

Secondary Roles
Note: Secondary roles stack with a player's normal role, passively giving them extra powers or drawbacks. Hosts may choose wither or not to have a secondary role be known to the player who has it.
Tough - Able to survive one otherwise killing action.
Brutal - Brutal players may retaliate against a chosen player on death, shooting them also.
ADVDetermined - Is immune to roleblock.
ADVMiller - Looks like a wolf to the Seer.
ADVDeathmiller - Is revealed as a wolf upon death.
Inmate - Looks like a mafia member to the Deputy.
ADVCursed - Transforms into a Werewolf if mauled by them. No events are posted regarding either the attack or transformation.
ADVJudas - Transforms into a Werewolf if lynched. Posted either as no lynch or as surviving lynch.
ADVIlluminated - Role is revealed publicly on death, even if no Priest is alive.
Village Idiot - Lynch vote counts for nothing.
Soothsayer - Lynch vote counts for double.
ADVTinker - If a tinker is targeted by a role that peeks for X/Not X, the result that the peeker receives is inverted.
ADVDay - Must post any actions publicly to the thread. Action happens when posted, not during normal phases.
Shadowvoter - Able to PM the host his vote. Doing so overrides his public vote.
ADVLovers - If one lover is killed, the other will die also. Commonly given a shared Tough status to compensate.
ADVInsane - All peeks an Insane player makes are flipped to return false information.
ADVNaive - All peeks a Naive player makes are returned as "false" for whatever the peek type was. (Boolean only)
ADVParanoid - All peeks a Paranoid player makes are returned as "true" for whatever the peek type was. (Boolean only)
ADVConfused - All peeks a Confused player makes return random information.
