Bringing this shit back for a quick round while we wait for people to sort out stuff.

Game Specs:

Common Game Type: Open - All rules are posted in the thread and any player may expect answers to any setup questions they ask.
Common Action Timestamp: No Surprises - Voting and actions are held in tight order. Any votes or actions after the deadline will not be counted, even if the Host hasn’t posted Sunset or Dawn yet. Any action not taken will be lost; the Host will not extend a round or give you a random peek or kill.
Common Voting Type: Timed Lynch - At the end of a certain amount of time, the player with the most votes is lynched.
Common Tie Breaker: LHLV - In the event of a tie, the player with the Longest Held Last Vote, or LHLV, is lynched. Basically, the player with the most votes just before the tie is lynched. If a player is tied with No Lynch, no player will be lynched regardless of LHLV.
Common Ghost Etiquette: RP Play Style - Once dead, players may post in the thread and join public IRC so long as they don't make game related posts or comments. They may not PM other players about the game or have private conversations on IRC. If you have data that you'd like to share, please, do so before your death. Dead Mafia/Wolf players are given a partial exception and are allowed to PM other Mafia/Wolves. All players are always free to talk with their Host in private IRC or PM.
Common Game Start: Hospitalization - Before the First Round starts, the Wolves/Mafia will choose one player to attack. That player will not be killed, but will be hospitalized and thus can’t vote in the first round.
Common R0 Peeks: Random Negative - Every player who can peek is given a random peek from all players who would return "No" or "Not X" other than the peeker.
Common Death Reveal: Full Reveal Upon Death- All players, when they die, will have their full role and alignment revealed immediately upon death, in additions to any items they had, locations they were in, when they died (in the case of temporal manipulation powers), and whether any loci were active.

Roles:


This game is designed for 14 players.



Village:




Cop: May peek one player each round for alignment.

Doctor (x2): May protect 1 player each round. Overdose* rules apply.



Mafia:



Don: May peek a player each night to discover their role.

Hitman: Once per game, has an extra shot.

Medic: May save one person from death each night. Overdose* rules apply.

Trainee: Starts as a goon, but will assume the role of the first mafia member to die.





Third Party:


Serial Killer: You may stab one person per night, peek one player for role per night, and have a one-off tough. Additionally, you are a Meth Addict.




Hidden Modifiers:


Meth Addict: Because of your weakened immune system, doctor protection has no effect on you. However, because of your increased tolerance of many substances, you cannot be killed via overdose. In addition, your drug-fueled charisma causes you to gain an extra vote. (Given to the Serial Killer and one random Village player).


Tough: You will survive one action that would otherwise kill you. (Applied to the Serial Killer and a random normal Villager).

Miller: You will always peek as "Serial Killer" to the Don, "Mafia" or "Third Party" to the Cop (randomly rolled on each peek), and a random living Mafia role to the Serial Killer. (Applied to a random normal Villager).



*This game, since there are 3 doctors total, invokes the Overdose mechanic: If a person is protected by more than one doctor in a single night, they will die.

At 15 players, we add a bonus mafia member.

I'm in talks with people about whether to run 24h or 48h rounds, or something different altogether.

No public signs of activity for 2 days = modkill, you know the drill. Be active, people -- afks fuck up the game hard.

That's 5:00 WET and 6:00 CET. Are you sure you can't start the game at any other hour? Most of the players won't be online when it starts.

No worries-- but yeah, I really can't reliably end it at any other time. Doing 48h rounds would give me more flexibility, but if it's 24h rounds I gotta go for the only time that will work 100% of the time -- I think convenience can be sacrificed for consistency.

You win with the Village -- meaning you win when all anti-town players are dead.

1. Anyone with the meth addict trait has the extra voting power every round (every time they vote, it will count as 2 votes in the tally). It is not limited to a certain number of uses, and may not be turned off.

2. Assuming the target still had his tough, the 3 doctors targeting him would cause an overdose to happen on him. He would survive this death, but it would use up his toughness (just like any other killtype (except modkill of course).



Also, @leo: rehash is a gerty command that tells the bot to reload.

@People with questions:

1. When I say "3 docs" I mean the 2 village docs + the mafia medic.

2. If someone survives a killing action, it will say:

Player stabbed/shot/overdosed/whatever
Player survived


As per tradition, whether the player survived through his/her own toughness or through a doc protection will not be revealed.

Also, it should be noted that protections do not work against lynch, since they happen later in the order of actions.

The full order of actions is as follows:

Lynch->Protections (and overdose kills) -> Serial Killer Stab -> Mafia Shot -> Peeks

I find it amazing that such a hot debate is going on, yet more than half of the players have not placed a vote.




If the mafia and sk all are voting, then the village are not playing right because they are letting their enemies control the vote.

Over twice the # of mafia players alive right now (4) have not put in a vote yet -- so even if all 4 mafia members + the SK were afk or not voting right now, there would still be a large portion of the village that is afk.




It's simple statistics that a variation of one of these two situations (or a combination of both) must be true, but the end result is the same: The people that are not voting are hurting their team(s).



The only person that can kinda benefit from not voting is the SK, and that's simply because a good SK wants to hide with the majority (which currently isn't voting, so why should he call attention to himself?).

A few notes:

1. As of a couple of minutes ago, it is my birthday! I am now the ripe old age of 20, and due to birthday celebrations tonight, the round ending post may be delayed.
2. Crisp0's last vote was not in bold -- he was warned at least twice (including once publicly in the thread by another player) and had plenty of time to correct it. He did not. Ergo, it did not count as an official vote.

3. I have gotten a couple people asking about win conditions. All 3 factions (village, mafia and sk) have mutually exclusive wincons, meaning that in order for one team to win, the other two teams must lose.

The village: wins if all mafia + the SK are dead
The mafia: wins if the SK is dead and the number of mafia is equal to (or greater than) the number of villagers
The SK: wins if there is only one other remaining player in the game besides himself (at which point he is assumed to overpower the remaining one person).

The Serial Killer (WaywardVole) reached parity with the game and won.






Awards:


"Village" MVP Award: WaywardVole, who managed to stab the entire mafia team without killing a single villager. He even injured a mafia on r0.

Best Shotcaller Award: Numble, who almost led the mafia team to victory with spot-on peeks (Cop, Doctor), protects (correctly predicting protects on 2 or 3 people to cause overdoses and maximize the mafia's killing power), and NK targets. He was barely suspected until lawliet survived lynch.

I'm in your game, screwing with your mafia Award: Lawliet, who survived lynch because of his tough at just the right time to fuck with everyone's expectations.

"uhhh whatever idc" Award: ARSENIC, who peeked Lawliet as innocent and proceeded to do absolutely nothing while lawliet was up for lynch (at which point he was overdosed).


Hiding in plain sight? Award: SweedyGonzales, who was a really obvious mafia for like 3 rounds but still managed to avoid lynch by the skin of his teeth for a long long time.

Old School Award: Lawliet and Wayward, for setting up an IRC meeting to get their shit together last round or two.

Might as well have been Maf Award: Most of the village this game, honestly. If the village could have been more active and worked together better, it would have been a ton easier for them to win.

R0 Deletion Award: Shadi, for being deleted r0.
